Olympus Sashiko thread is made in Japan from 100% cotton. Each skein is made of 6 threads twisted together and contains 22 yards of thread. Sashiko thread has a lot of twist which makes it quite strong, and it is not meant to be pulled apart like embroidery floss. The strength and durability of this type of thread makes it ideal for Sashiko, especially for repairing high-wear areas.
